Step 17 - Final Notes.
After your close your escrow, you will get a settlement statement from your escrow company called a "HUD-1". This itemized statement shows all of the charges and closing costs that paid, as well as any refunds that may be due to you. Again, carefully review the HUD-I along side your "Pre-Closing Statement" for any discrepancies. Notify your agent if there are any problems!

Finally, be certain to keep a complete file of all of the escrow papers and real estate contracts. Your will need a copy of your HUD-1 statement for your tax returns.
